Here are the bumpers which are in great condition from my 1981 911SC. They are located in Lantana Florida and are for sale. Make me an offer and come pick them up. I have removed the lights from the front bumper. I do still have the driving lights if you’re looking for a pair of Bosh 911 930 Driving Fog Lights
Okay so I really didn’t have a clue what I was doing when taking on this project… I just sorta knew what I liked. And I LOVE the old school Porsche Fuch rims. I found a guy in Central Florida who was parting out a 1978 Targa that had been converted into a wide-body. The Targa had some interesting Fuch’s on it but they were very close to being trash due to the really bad chrome job. I took a chance and drove six hours straight to meet Mr. Targa. The rims look like the real deal and I could see some of the serial numbers. So I gave him $1000 for the rims and some OEM 930 wheel spacers. The rims had dry rot tires on them so I didn’t get to check for cracks or seams. I get them home and have the tires removed only to find that they were seamed together using two rear Fuch rims to create a 16″ x 10″ Fuch Rim. So was I upset??? Hell No… I’m building a hot rod RS clone and what could be better than some custom Fuch Rims. It was like getting six for the price of one. I had the chrome removed and now gotta figure out if I can get them to fit on the clone.
Came out this morning and took a look at our Boston Whaler Newport. I thought one of the fuel cells might have cracked letting all the gas out making it look black. But then I remembered it’s oil injected so what was on the deck? Sand from the pool we are building. I’ve lived in South Florida for 16 years and have never seen it this cold. I guess it was time.
This was my first 911 and boy did we go out in a bang. My girlfriend (now wife) and I lost control coming out of a high speed sweeping right hand turn. I was driving and before I knew it we were spinning round and round down the street. Knowing what was around us made me feel helpless as there was a concrete wall with huge Royal Palm trees just in front of it. Nikki called out “I’m scared” and I said we’re going to hit hold on….
As you can see from the pics we were very luck and walked away from the car. Nikki had two fractures in her jaw and my left arm was blown up. I swear to this day if we hit that same wall and tree in any other sports car we would have been killed or seriously hurt.
Found this 1981 Porsche SC on craigslist in Orlando and thought it was worth the drive for inspection and maybe purchase. The seller wanted $9,500 and after I looked at the car without really knowing what to look for I bought it for $9,000. The body was straight and the interior was clean except for dashboard cracks and a sagging headliner. The suspension was soft and need to be replaced and upgraded. The tires were rotted and the original Fuchs were missing. After having a go and realizing the 915 transmission and 3.0 engine were strong I was sold. Now What$?
